The day these photo’s were shot, it was a balmy 50 something degrees in January. Even so, I just have this weird thing about stockings and tights. A few years ago, every Fall, like clockwork I would stock up on stockings and tights from American Apparel and hope and pray that I made it through the Winter without getting a run in a pair (that never happened). But the past two or so years, I’ve stopped wearing stockings/tights all together. I guess once Anna said stockings were out, I figured why waste my money! No really, in all seriousness, they don’t really keep your legs that much warmer and most of the time they throw off the whole look. I recommend no woman of color ever wear a pair of white stockings. It is truly my pet peeve and the only exception is little old church ladies on Sundays. Just BARE It, is my motto when Winter dressing. Like literally bare those legs, bear the cold and strut very quickly into whatever warm venue you’re heading to.

GET THE LOOK
Having a good boot is a great way to transition a skirt throughout all the seasons. I could have easily rocked this skirt with an over the knee boot as well. See how I rocked this skirt in the summer time here. Don’t be surprised if you see some variation of this outfit next month during New York Fashion Week. Yes, although I hate the cold, I will be participating this year with a few blogger friends and I’m actually very excited about it. This skirt was well worth the buy. What kind of moisturizer do you use on your legs to avoid being stupid ashy and dry from the winter air? My legs are Michael Jackson white even when I wear skinny jeans with tube socks underneath AND over-the-knee boots, lol.

ahahahahaha, Im actually doing a winter skin post soon but I use the Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter Lotion. It’s pretty amazing.
