I attended my first fashion show of Paris Fashion Week yesterday, Guy Laroche. This show will always be a favorite and holds weight for me because it was the first show I attended at my very first Paris Fashion Week. I can still very vividly remember that show and how excited and humbled I was to be invited. I also remember the fashion! Everything was beautiful and silky with vibrant yellows and neutrals. That collection was the SS 2014 Collection. Yesterday the show was a Palais de Tokyo where a lot of cool shows are held during Paris Fashion Week. I was here twice before when I wore this amazing skirt I got during Milan Fashion Week and then again in this Off The Runway DVF number that I love so much. Before heading to the show, I stopped off to check out Daniel Buren’s installation in the Palais Royal courtyard named Les Deux Plateaux. Funny thing is I’ve been to Paris twice before and could never find this gem until this trip, making it my business to find it on my own. It can be pretty obscure if you don’t know exactly where it is, hidden away inside an unassuming buildings facade.

Top: Fenty x Puma | Skirt: Balenciaga | Shoes: Proenza Schouler | Earrings: Annie Costello Brown
For my first official show, I keep it simple with this all black everything look. This crop top is a new favorite that I picked up at the Fenty x Puma new release event during New York Fashion Week. I love how long the sleeves are and the really lux material. I’m sure this will be heavy in my wardrobe until Winter. I paired it with a Balenciaga quilted skirt that I picked up at a designer consignment shop in New York last year. Lastly I finished the look with my favorite Proenza Schouler Fringe Mules. I love how comfortable these are and I can walk around all day in them without killing my feet. Guy Laroche was a pretty cool show. The brand seems to be going in a different direction with a more youthful tone to this seasons collection. There were lots of sheers, metallics and reflective materials used throughout the designs. I don’t really know if it was my cup of tea but I enjoyed the show as well as all the black girl magic on the runway.
After the show I quite literally bumped into my good friend Georgiana Boboc, who I met the very first time I came to Paris Fashion Week. We bonded while waiting in line to buy cool drinks at the vendor. It was seriously a million degrees with no AC in Palais de Tokyo. I decided to walk around a bit after downing a coconut water and strawberry eclair in 2 minutes flat. That’s when I discovered that Rochas was about to have a show in the same venue. So I did what any fan of Rochas would do. I went and stood in the standing line and basically finagled my way into the show sans ticket. It was THE BEST. I absolutely loved the colors, the styling, the music and the fact that I saw Shiona Turini who I adore.
I’d say Day 1 for me was pretty awesome.

Ahhhh! This sounds so exciting! You’re so lucky that you got to sneak into a show! I feel like it’s IMPOSSIBLE to do that in NY!
And I love this look, especially the skirt. The gold zipper on the skirt is such a lovely, subtle touch! The gold earrings do a good job of highlighting them 😉
